High-quality accounting is a successful collaboration between a manager and an accountant. The American Association of Accountants defines accounting as “the process of identifying, measuring, and disclosing financial information to enable users of this information to make decisions and judgments”. Its main tasks are:

- to provide the senior management of the company with information to make business decisions;
- to ensure control over the use of the company’s material, labour and financial resources and the preservation of property;

- to provide users of financial statements with true and complete information about the company’s liabilities, results of business operations and financial position;

- to ensure appropriate calculation of taxes.
